What The Trip Test is

The Trip Test is a travel compatibility test. You and the people you're traveling with each answer a questionnaire, and we generate a compatibility report for the trip. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what we don't do with it.

What we collect

  • Your name — typed in by you, used to label you on your group's report.
  • The trip creator's email — used only to email your trip links back so you don't lose the trip.
  • Your questionnaire answers and resulting scores — used to compute compatibility for your trip's report.
  • Optional trip details — trip name, type, destination, and date you give the creator.
  • Anonymous usage events — aggregate counts of how the flows are used (page views, progress milestones, report generation). No questionnaire answers are sent in analytics.

How your answers are used

Your individual answers are used solely to generate compatibility analysis for the trip you joined. The report your group sees shows compatibility scores and narrative observations — it does not expose any individual's raw answer to a given question. Your answers are never published, never sold, and never shared with third parties for advertising.

Who can see your report

Anyone with your trip's unique invite link or report link can view the report for that trip. Links are hard to guess but not password-protected. Don't share your link publicly if you'd rather keep your group's results private.

Data retention

We keep your trip data for as long as your trip exists in The Trip Test. You can request deletion of your trip and its answers at any time by contacting us — see the Contact page.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't run third-party advertising trackers on your answers.
  • We don't use your answers to train AI models. Compatibility scoring is deterministic and based on your group's inputs only.
  • We don't share individual questionnaire answers with anyone else in your group.

Email

If you provide an email when creating a trip, we use it to send your trip links for recovery. We don't add you to a marketing list unless you ask. Email delivery may be subject to content screening and provider limits.
